We have now added a new item to our shop custom PTFE labrets, these are large gauge labrets from 12G-8G (2mm-3mm) that we are currently able to make (more soon as we receive our new stock), as standard we make them with fitting o-rings to wear on the front, but we are also able to make them internally threaded so they can take any of our microdermal attachments (picutres to follow). We are also able to make PTFE plugs and tunnels (as soon as we find our drill bits), if interested in something but can’t see the options just drop us an email.

July 17th, 2008 - Organic Jewellery Care

July 17th, 2008

Organic body jewellery covers a wide range of materials, from stone to wood to bone, but there are some general care tips that apply to all organic body jewellery. Organic jewellery should never be left to soak in any liquid or autoclave, as this can crack, warp or split the jewellery.

Orangic jewellery in general is considerd to be worn at your own risk, as some people have much more sensitive bodies than others and may require inert metals such as stainless steel, niobium or titanium indefinitely. Most people are absolutely fine and have no reaction at all to organic jewellery. Many people actually find organic jewellery to fare better in their skin than metals. It all depends on your body, and you know it best. Just use common sense and listen to what it says, if you have any iritation, infections or other adverse reaction then stop using that item for a few days to see if it heals up and that was the problem. Please, do not use organic body jewellery in fresh piercings as this can cause all sorts of problems and slow down the healing process.

July 17th, 2008 - Busy Week – Piercing Tools

July 17th, 2008

After a very busy week; first we had university graduation ceremonies to attend; then we have been busy organising direct credit/debit card payments for the website; and lastly sorting (and counting) new stock, we have finally found sometime to write some new posts (more too come over the next few days we promise).

We are very proud to finally announce that we are fully capable of accepting all UK major (and Visa and MasterCard for all international payments) credit/debits cards directly fully secured by 256bit SSL, this process has taken a long time to get in place with all the security checks that both the payment gateway and our bank performed, and the backwards and forwards communication between the two.

We have finally restocked on our ever popular piercing tool range, this includes clamps, ring opening pliers and closing pliers, along with piercing aftercare products H2Ocean.

June 27th, 2008 - Silicone Care & Maintenance

June 27th, 2008

Silicone body jewellery can come in a varying degree of quality materials, it is always best to stick to the manufacturers care instructions when looking after your jewellery, specially silicone, and items will last many years without any problems if properly cared for.

Silicone jewellery should be washed with anti-bacterial soap & warm water prior to use, or autoclaved if it is implant grade silicone and you have access to an autoclave.

To insert silicone tunnels/plugs fold/squish it in half, Read the rest of this entry »

June 24th, 2008 - Microdermals

June 24th, 2008

Microdermal surface anchor piercings are a ‘new’ form of body piercing (they have been around for hte last few years in their current form although the general idea has been around much longer), that is similar in style to transdermal implants. These are a single point piercing this means that there is only one end of the jewellery showing. These are considered to be a permanent body modification, compared to traditional body piercing. Once placed the skin will grow through the holes in the microdermal base within a few weeks of the piercing and secure it in place, it is important in the first few weeks of healing to be careful with the microdermal as it is possible to pull it out. As these are relatively new it is unclear just how permanent they will be, as such are sometimes referred to as ’semi-permanent’.
